What Are Your Goals For 2026?

Now that more than a week has passed, you can ask yourself: “What are my goals for 2026?”

This is a very important question, but I think you need to ask a better one like this: “How do I set goals and how do I achieve them?”
The reason I write this is that most goals are way too big and so vague that one cannot even grasp them. Goals like “I want to earn more money” or “I want to get fit” are doomed at the moment they are created. Why? Because they don’t have numbers in them. A good goal must be measurable, so you have to put numbers in there and a time limit as well.
Here are the aforementioned ones better put: “I will earn 3000 bucks a month in revenue by September 30th” or “I will be able to run 3 km in 12 minutes and deadlift 150 kg by October 1st.”
See? Very easy to understand and also not impossible. (Okay, my personal record is 3300 m in under 12 minutes and that was like 10 years ago, so that one might be a bit hard to get done, but you get the point.)
In order to reach those goals, you can set mini-goals for every week and month so you can track your progress even better.
As for me, aside from my main job (teaching German), I will continue posting about privacy and cybersecurity, at least three posts a month. I am also already working on writing a book that I want to get done by the end of June. I will keep working out: 15 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of calisthenics at least four times a week. Last year, I got into sound design and will produce ambient sounds and effects, at least one pack a month. Follow me in my shop or on itch.io. Last, but not least, I will keep posting videos about me playing music, once in a week or two weeks. (YouTube and Instagram)
How about you? I am sure you have goals too. How about changing just a few things in order to have better privacy? Here are my suggestions for you, the time limit is NOW:
Start using the Brave browser on all your devices.
Create a new mail account with ProtonMail or Tutanota.
Start using Signal or Session for messaging and call everybody using those apps. Limit your phone calls and SMS as much as you can.
If you want more insight and want to get into a state of mind for achieving your goals, you can check out MY BOOK I wrote. It’s $2.99 for the first 50 people. (Free for members on my Buy Me a Coffee page.)
Happy New Year, go for your goals!
